We are PHARMN (Preserve Heritage Agriculture and Regional Markets Now) a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Our Mission

PHARMN works to preserve and promote North Carolina agricultural heritage by supporting family farming ventures, Appalachian cultural heritage, agritourism, small-scale venues suitable for family farms to succeed in the regional food shed, and better health through good nutrition. PHARMN will increase public awareness of the importance of local farming and sustainable agriculture through education and outreach to the community.

We are about:

• Strengthening the connections between local foods and sustainable agriculture in order to protect the environment and build community
• Working together with the Watauga County Farmers Market to locate and develop a permanent home where the market can grow and succeed in the years ahead
• Supporting innovative agricultural entrepreneurship through education and networking
• Celebrating and preserving  Appalachian cultural heritage by fostering traditional arts, crafts and music.
